Zardoz forgive me, but holy shit:

Boorman saw Alphaville. See it. It's a french flick - unbelievable pre-parallel to Zardoz. Same script, almost - overlain with an entirely different aesthetic. No one made the director hit anybody over the head with any plot elements, either - there is almost *no* explanation of what's going on until about halfway through the picture. Amazingly good.

I thought it was someone around here that convinced me to put in on my queue - was it? Couldn't find the thread.

I love the very name 'zardoz:'--- the sound of the name . Though it is not quite sonorous . The
coupling of the first declensive FIRM 'z' sound with the ar soft rolling r sound and soft o sound coupled with a soft ' z ' is interesting in terms of phonetics . Interesting in terms of how rare a sound that is .

I wonder if a linguist could reveal whether or not there is any similar phonetic sound in any of the vocables of the languages around the planet .

(As an aside , if I get another absentee balott , I may decide to write the name 'zardoz' in as a write in name amidst the names of candidates for public office ...)

I love the monologue

I was quite inspired a line in the opening monologue that stated : 'the penis is evil' . I hate penises ---they are ugly and vulgar looking so I will applaud Mr.Zardoz for posting that line. North America has become a phallocentric sort of collective society and that is repugnant .

Hurrah for Mr.Zardoz !

(I do hope to have a son --hopefully an only child---with a wife one day ...however, such sex would only be for reproduction , NOT for hedonistic excitement).

How I wish that human men would one day evolve to have NO external genitals . Male birds do NOT external genitals ---and they look better that way !

"Lost in the Thinking" (2005)

Commissioned project for a Grizedale Arts NY Art exhibit in Oct 2004. Began as something (I still don't know exactly what) much smaller, with no time to complete and too many computer problems, expanded into a surreal meditation on hopelessness and pointlessness as guided by the Arthur Frain/Merlin character from Boorman's "Zardoz"

In addition to being a fake god, I'm also - what? - like, 300 years old or more? - and obsessively knowledgeable in a wide, if ecclectic and not altogether pragmatic, range of subjects.

Everytime the end of Zardoz appoaches...2 min ago...There is the scene after everyone is dead and the chosen ones are screaming for Zed, then it cuts directly to scene of Consuela on her back, sweaty faced and contorting, crieing Zed's name and EVERY time, I verbly have to express, "OH!
